Returning these shoes as they squeak when walking

These were uncomfortable right out of the box and did not get better with several days wear, lots of leather softener, some stretching. Felt like wearing cardboard. Took too long trying to make them work. Should have sent them back right away. Too late now. They go to Good Will.

Overall a decent shoe for about $50. There isn’t much padding in the sole and only minimal arch support, so I wouldn’t recommend this for anyone who needs to walk or stand for a significant portion of the day

If you have been looking for a shoe that has a medium forefoot and a heel narrow enough that it doesn’t slip, this is it. Toe box is wide enough to be comfortable, but a bit shallow. Just give it some treatments with a leather softener and it will break in quickly. It’s not a pretty shoe, not hip, trendy, or funky cool. But the they fit perfectly out of the box.

I agree with the October 8th review. At first, they felt okay. Now after weeks of stretching, softening, even pounding with rubber, these shoes feel like they are made of cardboard. They do not, repeat not, meld to your foot. And in time become very uncomfortable. I too have just wrapped them for the Good Will box.

I have used Clark’s Air Mover’s for decades. They were not available. These shoes were not acceptable because they chafed my outer ankles. Please make the original Air Movers available as soon as possible.

I was disappointed that I was unable to purchase Clark’s Air Mover shoes which I have been wearing for decades, so I purchased these shoes which looked like the next best thing. I have sensitive feet and ankles, and these shoes chafed my ankles. Please bring back the Air Movers!

I have a tobacco-brown pair of excellent Clarks shoes, bought several years ago. I’d like to have a pair in black also. Alas, I don’t know the model name of those older shoes, but I hoped they were the Cotrell Edge as they look almost identical in the online photos. So I ordered a pair in black. While they look very similar, they are not remotely the same shoes. These are featherweight, with stiff sides that immediately abraded the skin even just walking around the house. Also, they are SO light that I imagine they won’t hold up well, although on that I could be wrong. In addition, they felt slightly small, but that per se is not why I chose to return them. It was a combination of their flimsy construction and fear that the uncomfortable upper edges would result in short and unpleasant ownership. A pity, because the older pair of Clarks that I own are terrific, and cost about the same (albeit, 3-4 years ago) at a Clarks outlet store. I have to assume that the older shoes are no longer made at all, so I’ll have to look at some other makers altogether.

It’s ok but I was disappointed in the insole. Poor arch support and inferior cushioning. The insert is glued in place so you have to literally tear it out to put a good one in. But for the price it’s ok for today;s quality and standards.

Way too tight in the front. They look roomy but they aren’t. I wear a 12 shoe and they were just small

I’ll start with the good: These are really good-looking shoes. I have larger feet (usually wear a 14 or 15) and unlike many other shoes, these don’t look like skis.
Now for the bad: With every step, you hear a glorious fart sound. Step step step. Fart fart fart. This makes the shoes absolutely unwearable. They were also pretty snug; for everyone saying they feel a half size larger, I’d have to say they feel a half size smaller. If I ever order Clarks again I’d go up a size (no half sizes once you get up to about 12 or 13).

True to size: I wear size 10.5 and the 10.5 shoe easily fit and provided more than enough room for movement and comfort. They’re stylish, though in a not too noticeable sort of way. They’re Clarks, so you know they’re made well. Strongly recommend.

Fit is very comfortable. Love the color. This is my husbands second purchase of this shoe . He wore the other pair out as it was his go to shoe.

Well, these fit real well, but they are wimpy, wimpy, wimpy. After about two months of wear, the soles started to lose their strength, and after six months, they are completely shot: it feels like I’m walking barefoot in these. Clarks used to be my go to shoes, but I notice their quality has gone way down the last five years or so. No more Clarks for me

Love these shoes! They’re classy, comfortable, and affordable!

I love the shoe, but I think it ran a little large. I ordered my usual size, but then returned it for a 1/2 size smaller. Zappos is easy to work with.

I walk about 8 miles a day on my job and on the first day of wearing them, it was like they were 3 months old. Comfortable!!

Felt great as soon as I put them on. Nice support- a nice basic shoe.

I ordered these for an upocoming vacation with a lot of walking tours. These were amazingly comfortable right out of the box. I took them for a few short walks, and then for a 2-miler on the weekend, and am very happy with them. No break-in required. These are a good-looking pair of shoes, ideal for casual, maybe even ‘business casual’ dress, and a very comfortable shoe for walking. Highly recommended.

Too small ( I have high arches and had difficulty getting the shoe on).
