Laces are too far down shoe cause heel of shoe to flop

I ordered a wide because I usually cannot fit into boots. But the top was way too wide and does not adhere to your body. It flops around and it hurts frankly. Also I was very unhappy with the material. It is marketed as leather, which is suitable for work. But it looks like rubber boots, which are not office suitable. The style is nice and the shoes are really comfortable except the top of the boot.

They are right about sizing. They do run big. Originally ordered my normal size a 9.5EE and it was too long. Returned it for a 9EE and it’s perfect in both length and width. That said, i could likely fit in an 8.5EE. I prefer a little room in my shoes so the 9. Is great. These are immediately comfortable. I really like the fit. It’s pretty much ideal for me. No hotspots or discomfort. Seems made well too, time will tell.

I wore Chukkas and Wallabies when I was a kid and was looking for a comfortable Chukka in traditional style. The Bushacre is a slightly more affordable version of the Clark’s desert boot due to not being made in the UK but still has quality materials and manufacturing. The beeswax is a pull up leather that immediately starts showing creases and character, which is exactly what I expected and wanted. The insole makes walking in the shoe almost “cushy”. wouldn’t recommend hiking on jagged rock trails but street or sand should be no problem. I wear a wide shoe and have a high instep and the 9.5 EE fit with the same width feel I’ve had in other Clark’s I’ve purchased in the same size. The toe box feels as wide as others but a bit tighter/lower. This is not a problem as the pull up leather tends to stretch over time.

I love these boots! I had the Bushacre 2s and loved them except for the sole was very thin and didn’t do well in outdoor settings. Well, guess what?! They fixed it with the Bushacre 3. I could see and feel the upgrade in the sole immediately. Even a nice cushion has been added, something missing from its predecessor (Bushacre was pretty bare bones). These boots look great with most everything! My Bushachre 2 held up extremely well, I had them in my rotation for at least three years but they were routinely my go to’s. Also, I can’t see the difference between these and the desert boot from Clark’s. I hear the desert boot is made in England so that explains the higher price. No thanks, I’ll keep buying the Bushacre as it’s the same boot, only difference being is that it’s made in the US. Really comfy, really stylish, very versatile. For me, I usually wear a 13 but a 12 feels more secure with these boots.

Normally, I wear a 13 in shoes (wide foot, as well). I ordered an extra wide 12 and had to return for a medium 12. Order a size down from your normal size, and you should be fine.

Nice looking shoe but there’s no heel retention when walking. With each step your heel will rise.

My 13yo son is super picky about shoes. He put these on and loved them immediately. He kept saying, “I can tell these are really great quality! I can tell they use good quality materials and they’re made really well.” No joke. He’s 13 and the only shoes he’s let me buy him over the last few years have been purple generic sneakers from Amazon. Hopefully this opens his eyes a little 🙂

They’re good looking boots but the fit at the heel is just horrible. For some reason they’re too wide inside so your foot slides up and down as you walk. Not a lot but I personally don’t want my foot moving as I walk. And complaints about this are all over Amazon and Reddit. I’ve tried thicker socks and even got an extra eyelet added thinking it would tighten them but nope. That didn’t work and now I can’t return them. Definitely think twice about buying these.

The sizing was spot on and the shoes are super comfy. Got the Sand Suede and they look great, just like my old dessert boots from the 70’s.

Very comfortable, very stylish. A bit wide for my narrow foot, but will add an insole and they should be perfect.
Gregory –
Too large. Really too large. At least one size bigger. Material is ok but not perfect, can be scratched just by nails with a little pressure. But it’s comfortable.

These shoes don’t lace up very high, so there’s a lot of heel slip when walking in these. They added a very thick sole insert to address comfort issues, but this makes my foot feel squished against the top of the toe box. If they don’t loosen up soon I’ll try a thinner sole insert. I might also drill out another set of shoelace holes so I can lace these up a little tighter.
Overall a good-looking shoe that could use a little more development.

When I read “synthetic lining” I thought the shoes were lined . I was a little bit disappointed to see that they are not lined ! otherwise I was happy with the purchase , just wish they were made in england or italy and not China ! TOO dependent on one country ! haven’t we learned our lesson yet !?

I really liked the boots. Unfortunately, while the front of my foot is wide, my ankle must not be, so my heel rode up when I walked.
Grateful for zappos return policy.

Stiff – felt like wearing overshoes. Easy return process is appreciated.

These were a very odd fitting shoe. Could not break them in to be comfortable.

The shoe is incredibly comfortable. I wish all my shoes felt this good on.

I bought these for my son who normally wears a size 10. The 9.5 fit him. The beeswax color is dark but looks really nice. He says the shoes are very comfortable.

Runs big.

These are actually darker color than pbotographs

The padded inserts made the shoe feel much smaller than it is. I took them out and used a store-bought insert and it fit much better.

I am a new amputee and wanted new shoes (plural), one for my surviving foot and the other for my prosthesis. Yesterday I walked in my Clark’s boots, with parallel bars and prosthesis-in-progress. Got compliments from staff including one “Ooh, looks like Clarks.” I’m not going to lie, I’m an old fart and the Bushacres are identical to the Desert Boots I wore constantly in my 20s. Those boots traveled through a good bit of Europe in 1970 and these are destined to see some other places in the next few years.

Fit well for me. Heel/sole heavier than regular desert boots. Uppers are also a bit thicker leather than desert boots. Good Spring and Fall boots.

1 Year Review
These are dang good boots. Quality is very good. I have worn them every day for over 1 year. They are wide fitting and run a little big for the size. The foot bed is a little hard but not bad.
**I have been trying to buy a pair of boots to replace these with better fit and style but I can’t so far. These are dang good as is.
Buy them and keep them. I can’t beat them so there’s that.
